Symptom of the Universe...

Symptom of the Universe
"Symptom of the Universe"

My latest piece which I really am pleased with. Taken me all week to get to the point I was happy with it. At one point this was an image that came in at around 400 meg. Getting really into the swing of this so much so it seems like old times of around ten years ago making surreal images on the computer.

Where does this all end up? I aim to get these and others printed out for October. You are only seeing a small version of this online and I am to get these printed out A3 size. Of course these may be ideas for moving image works in the future. Strange I seem to have my 2-D head on at the moment.

Here and Now

The past week we have been running the Here and Now project at Gressenhall and Bridewell museums. This is an exploration of the the development of Norwich s rural and urban history. This isn't the dry history of dates, battles and generals but of investigating peoples lives through recent history. Gressenhall was a workhouse until the forties and Bridewell was a prison. But have a thorough range of exhibits to explore this. The end result is a soundscape through the drama workshops we have been running.

Norwich Subway Man

Whilst on the way to photo more street art I found this man begging in the subway. Social enough man and engaged in a conversation about the art in the subway, some ideas about adding some more pictures in here, his family, Gorleston, Lowestoft and Yarmouth too.

Belief in the park

"I believe we all have the capacty to think really big thoughts"

Build a park and they will come

Pupils from Blyth Jex school were engaged in a workshop where they had to make a large picture under the theme of "Your Park". Although this was a 2-D exercise it soon went 3-D as seen from with the figure and tree in the picture above.

Clouds over Norwich

Mapping my own area

Engaging the mind...

A view of Mile Cross

This is Mile Cross

An initial sketch mapping the area

The mobile phone, the mug and a map

A workshop moment

This is what it's all about

At the end of the workshop pupils of Blyth Jex school hold up one of the maps they had made of Norwich and the Mile Cross area. They were all enthusiastic and fully involved in this process together of mapping their surroundings. These maps were scripts in how they could act out and express themselves through journeys through words, images, sounds and drama. In the next workshop they will see their work in these different artistic forms combined via a short film. Facilitating a process in how they express themselves in their surroundings.
